I use console to make Acrobat's Amulet and Ring of Skimming so that I can run faster so running back and forth doesn't take so damn long. Before you say get a horse, I usually do as I always use the Unicorn immediately at the start.
Still your character is usually very slow doing other things and everything takes longer to accomplish. I don't know about you, but I value my time and would rather not waste it running in slow motion for most of the game. I also make a Ring of Perfection which I suppose is a little over-powered at early levels, but I feel the ring is practically worthless when you actually are allowed to find it. By the time you have acces to it at level 20 there are better rings to use.
So to me, by creating the ring using console I can make better use of it before it becomes obsolete. The ring of perfection is nice at the early levels because it allows you to increase your carrying capacity, and increase your Health, Magicka, and running speed a little bit.
I don't think that is very overpowered as much as it is useful. You probably would barely even notice the difference and if you did all you need to do is turn up the game difficulty a tad to compensate if you have a problem with it.
Learning to use the console is very useful. I don't know how many times I have lost items that fall through the ground. Using tcl in console to enable noclip allows you to get any items you lose through the floor and in some cases allows you to find some items you never even knew were there. This game has alot of bugs and other issues. Sometimes you have to use console to fix things that get messed up. I was in the house for like 2 minutes and after I killed the NPC and exited 3 of the NPC's were somehow magically near puddlejump camp.
Saving and reloading several times I could sometimes get close to their location, but no matter what someone would die and I would fail the quest. That is BS. So I used console to save them by moving them to my location. Using console is necessary sometimes and taking advantage of it is not as pathetic as being a little narrow minded, but to each their own.
