Oh how I love that story! Maybe the famous Wolfgangs help the cause…. I have to say it does not appeal to me even point one of a percent. Like I care that you are a blab. I guess I do. My unborn child is Wolfgang. God said so.

Sheer madness! He was right with our first two so we will see Completely blank when it comes to girls names. I love Lorelei but it was immediatly vetoed. Glad to find this forum on Wolfgang! I'm 36 weeks with our second baby, and we didn't find out the gender.
If it's a boy, we are almost completely set on Wolfgang- we brought it up jokingly early in my pregnancy and let it go, thinking it was "too much. We have a pretty strong middle name chosen too- Ga1i1ee. My husband was born in Israel to a German mother and American father, and we recently returned to Israel last year, and our favorite place was Ga1i1ee, and it has tons of spiritual meaning for us too. So, the name Wolfgang Ga1i1ee Th0mas would be it if we have a boy!
We decided we will likely call the baby "Wolfie" or "Wolf" for short which just sounds awesome. Not sure if anyone will see this post, but it is good to get it "out" there, since we are keeping the name a secret until I deliver!
I think your enthusiasm for the name I would say and your pregnancy brain, but I find the latter idea implicitly misogynistic, even though I experienced the debility myself may have clouded your internet posting sensibility. You've posted the same exact post three times across two threads. You also should probably have used some kind of masking, like numbers or symbols in place of certain letters, if you don't want your future son's unique set of names to be permanently web-searchable and associated with this site.
That said, great name and congratulations. May he wear it in good health. If he does end up being a he. It's really easy to post multiple times as a result of refreshing I have done it entirely unpregnant myself and as a newcomer it's also easy to discover that the Baby Name Ideas and Dilemmas forum has all the traffic only after you've posted in one of the lower traffic forums.
Plus, other forum sites do notify participants of replies to threads they've participated in in the past though this site does not have that feature , so it's easy to mistakenly think there might be a benefit to replying to both of the recent Wolfgang threads here. I'm happy to mask the name after the fact using my moderator superpowers -- and I agree that it is, indeed, an excellent name! I think it's a great name for your family, and that Gal! The curiosity must be extreme at this point!
This sounds extremely pretentious and made up. I cannot take someone seriously if they have this name. For one, "Jewish" is not a language! Secondly, one does not need to be an etymologist to see that "Wolf" means By the way, Jews are terrified of wolves, as evidenced by their mythology.
While Germans are afraid of wolves as well, they also honor and revere the wolf. We named our son Wolfgang. We call him Wolfie.
Everyone always remembers him and it suits him well so far! I often hear, oh like Wolfgang Puck! We're mostly German and we picked this boy name right away while listening to Mozart.
What's not to love about this name? It has great connotations and namesakes, wolves are really cool animals, the nickname "Wolfie" is brilliant, and all in all it is just an excellent name. Who can forget Wolfgang Puck the cook? This name is like, literally badass and all kinds of awesome! Wolf is a great nickname. This name is just all kinds of awesome! I love it :D. Goethe's first name was Wolfgang. I love it, and I want my son's middle name to be Wolfgang.
The name Wolfgang was given to 66 baby boys born in the US in Kind of weird, but I find myself liking it. I was almost named Wolfgang and I wish cause it's awesome and I would've gone by Wolfie. I'm German so I naturally love this name. I just asked him if he has ever been teased about his name.
He has NOT been teased at all. He likes his name. And even then, it is rare to have adults say rude comments about his name. Our dentist asked my husband if he lost a bet. I would have predicted, in retrospect, that Wolf would have had trouble with teasing about his name at school.
Go figure. My first name is Wolfgang, born and brought up in Germany where the name is these days a bit old fashioned, but very much acceptable and common.
However, I do work and live internationally these days mainly UK and India and this is were I do have a problem with my first name Wolfgang; people have difficulties pronouncing and spelling the name. How is it worse than Caydyn or Bentley or Atticus?
Wolfgang is a traditional name, and we plan to give this name to our son as well. Lighten up, people. In a world of bizarre baby names, this one is far from out-there. How could someone named Aiden make fun of a boy named Wolf? Seroiusly, which is more badass? Man, sometimes I hate the internet. Stick to your guns with Wolfgang, my dear. Wow, this is an interesting conversation.. I know its a few years old but Wolfgang is the name we also want to give our child if it is a boy. How is "Wolfgang" "the path of a wolf" not a cool name.
How will that be a problem to spell? Perhaps if you want people to say it the German way, but the English way is pretty cool. It is a unique strong name. Yes, old fashion in Germany but old fashion will be unique and different when our children are grown up. I also got mixed comments from my family but this is not a strange name in my opinion. Wolfgang is an awesome name! Very rock star and very masculine.
I love it. Kids will always find a reason to make fun of other kids. Also, how can Wolfgang be hard to pronounce in other English-speaking cultures?
